New Nanny photo
This is a photo of Nealon's new nanny, Maria, and his new playmate, Hayden. We had a trial run Friday morning, which went well. He cried at library story time so they had to leave, and he woke up a couple times after asleep when she tried to put him down in the crib - but I am going to start bringing his baby recliner that he naps in here at home - and he will start getting a hang of the new routine. He will start hanging with Maria and Hayden during the day tomorrow. One problem I had Friday was that he had just gone down for a nap when I needed to put him in the car ... and then he woke up and was tired, and hungry (of course) when he arrived and they were ready to go to the library. So, I will have to work on this ... Anyhow, he is in fabulous company with these two, and I couldn't be happier with the situation. Chris and I just have to figure out how to minimize the hours because if she were to watch him for the whole day, at the end she would make more money than I did. That being said, we are looking forward to my mom coming out this summer, and to Chris getting a job after the bar exam!
Chris's Family's Visit
Chris's family was here from Thursday - Monday to celebrate Chris's graduation. They LOVED Nealon, of course, and were very, very nice. We had a great time. Highlight include having Korean bbq at the house, going out to eat Korean & Vietnamese food, playing poker (and I must mention that when we decided to split the pot before it got too late, I was well in the lead :) and family karaoke. More karaoke pics (and a few clips) to come.

Christopher Ling, member of the Cornelius Honor Society
Chris was bestowed with the honor of being selected as a member of the Cornelius Honor Society, for scholarship, leadership, and contribution to the law school community. Only about 30 students each year are selected. These photos were taken at the Frank Manor House at Lewis & Clark with Chris's family - who arrived Thursday and left yesterday.

Nanny share on the horizon...
I sent out an email to the Oregon Women Lawyers list serv this morning about child care and already received this back from a woman attorney with an 18-mo-old boy willing to share her nanny:
"[Our nanny] is wonderful. She is Brazilian and speaks only Portuguese to my son (my request – she speaks English too). I don’t allow any television other than a 15 minute video (Your Child Can Read). She is active (we have zoo and OMSI memberships), and she goes at least twice a week. She takes [our son] to the library for reading time at least once a week, and has play dates too. She cooks great food – no junk. She is dependable and trustworthy. I could not be happier with her. My son adores her. We would be happy to have another child on board – my son would love it. $8 is fine. Her typical hours are 8:30-6:30 M-F. We also have a large goofy dog and two cats. We have a designated playroom and live near Irving Park."
Sounds pretty perfect. So we are going to meet after finals :)
